Andre Ward really is a wasted talent.

Eubank and Jones were shot, Eubank took the fight on a couple of weeks notice and had to lose 30lbs because he was preparing for a crusierweight fight.

Lacy was an hype job B level fighter, Reid was B level too.

Hopkins was past prime and in his 40s.

You can spout numbers all you like but when you really look at his resume it's not great, Wards is much better.

Unifying at 168 with those opponents was more than the entire sum of Calzaghe's career. Then moving up to 175 and fighting an undefeated KO artist and top 5 P4P guy in Kovalev puts Ward on a totally different level than Calzaghe.

People can say they don't like his style, and they can say they thought he lost to Kovalev, but the bottom line is that Ward has fought the best and came out on top. He was inactive for a time and that hurts his legacy, but he's had a great career. And don't forget he begged GGG to fight him too.

On all time lists, Calzaghe falls outside the top 50 for me, Ward maybe just inside the top 40.

The reality is, you can pick apart anybody's resume in that way. You can question the legitimacy of anything really.

Andre Ward would have got disqualified against Mikkel Kessler anywhere but Oakland. Andre Ward got beat by Sergey Kovalev. Andre Ward got saved by the ref against Darnell Boone. You get the idea.

That's questioning the decisions, not the quality of opposition. Which is what a resume is. Calzaghes doesn't hold up. The fact that you have to name a shot to **** Jones and Eubank is embarrassing.

Well, if you change Mikkel Kessler to a DQ loss, and Sergey Kovalev to a decision loss... what resume does Andre Ward have then?

Now you have to change results on Wards resume to make it look as bad as Calzaghe's. I rest my case.

Ward is P4P King right now unless Floyd comes back. Adonis don't want that work and neither does 666...adonis aint even want it against Hopkins or kovalev.
If Ward clearly beat Kovalev why do about 80% off those polled think Kovalev won. That doesn't sound like a clear win for Ward. Why do you call GGG 666? Has he become the devil to you? I think Calzaghe in his prime beats a prime Ward. Ward is a calculating boxer. Joe was a fast boxer who threw a lot of punches from all angles. His style, speed, great chin and high volume punching round after round would defeat Ward in my opinion.
