Ufc #1 Bantumweight contender spars Lomachencko...

Dillashaw spoke to ES News to discuss the training session, saying:

“He put it on me. He’s animal. He’s a cardio machine. He doesn’t give you a break. So much respect. Just to share the ring with the guy was amazing. I would never pass up the opportunity. I wish I was in a little bit better shape, but it was amazing.”

“Turning you into punches, that’s his thing,” he said. “He gets those angles where you can’t find him. You’re looking, and as soon as you find him, he’s hitting you. It was amazing. I’m a guy who wants to use angles and use footwork, so I can learn a lot from him. I really hope I get to continue to work with him.”

Really cool stuff - great to see elite fighters across sports getting together and plying their trade.

I certainly believe every word Dillashaw has to say here - Loma's brilliance is in his relentlessness, and his incredible ability to create openings through angles with remarkable speed.

MMA fighters would do well to draw on as much boxing skill as possible. MMA has gone through this massive phase of BJJ being in nearly every fighters skillset, and it's come at the expense of strong standup games. There are exceptions to this, of course, but it's an area that isn't particularly strong across the sport.

Lomachenko is one of those guys that is so technically good and skilled that I don't think it benefits MMA fighters to be in there with him.

He's going to be in there doing things and hitting them with shots they don't even know exist, it'll be hard to learn from a total ass-whooping.

TJ is one of the better Strikers in the UFC

Boxing is more than just "THROWING PUNCHES" MUCH MORE! Yes it is some people who think McGregor has a PUNCHERS CHANCE vs Mayweather, I don't even give him that he will Struggle Badly to land on Mayweather Clean!

Impressive, considering that Dillashaw is one of the better boxers in MMA and has some of the lightest footwork. Further proof that boxers develop greater boxing skills than fighters who must divide their time between grappling and various types of striking. Seems basic enough but a lot of MMA-only fans still refuse to believe that.
