All of which could happen to Canelo in May. 3 months is plenty of time to promote and get the fight in for September, all this is is more posturing from GB. People complain these days that fighters don't fight often enough. Well how can they when supposedly you a promoter says you NEED 4+ months to adequately 'promote' and safeguard a good fight?

How anyone is ok with this BS I'm not sure.

Canelo is Golden Boy. Without him (financially speaking) they are pretty much nothing. Canelo will sell with or without GGG. This is why you don't hear Loeffler/K2 going 'oh noes, we ain't signing a deal if nelo fights in May, too much risk of something happening!' They can afford to BS around because if GGG moves on, they can go 'oh see he ducking, Canelo has better business to tend to'.

No, that's called an investment. They've invested in him looking for a return. Scared money don't make none. They're at the point of the investment where they have to make a decision to keep investing or sell and try to get as much back as they can from their investment. The only fight that can do that is Canelo.

Why keep investing in a 35 year old with maybe 2 or 3 years left when that money can be used to invest in the younger fighters like Crawford and Lomachenko? And people wonder why so much of the HBO boxing brain trust left when Nelson was hired.

Show me where I said GGG owed them? My post was strictly about HBO forcing the fight, and like the other GGG fanboys you twist it and turn it to make it seem like I was saying someting bad about GGG.

Any mention of this guys names get ya'll panties in a bunch.

This is the biggest fight in boxing. Fight will be $70.00 HD in the states (maybe more, smh).

        300,000 buys: 90/10 split: $18,900,000/$2,100,000
        300,000 buys: 80/20 split: $16,800,000/$4,200,000
        300,000 buys: 70/30 split: $14,700,000/$6,300,000
        300,000 buys: 60/40 split: $12,600,000/$8,400,000

on the higher end of things....

        900,000 buys: 90/10 split: $56,700,000/$6,300,000
        900,000 buys: 80/20 split: $50,400,000/$12,600,000
        900,000 buys: 70/30 split: $44,100,000/$18,900,000
        900,000 buys: 60/40 split: $37,800,000/$25,200,000

Honestly, I think that this fight could break 1 million buys.

You haven't deducted the 55% that goes to the Cable distributors and HBO.

Yeah, I was just tossing some scenarios out for a PPV split only to give an idea of the type of money both sides would be working with. I don't know enough details to go any deeper than that, just a hypothetical to see just how much money would need to be generated by the fight to make up for the $15M deal being taken off the table.

Well your numbers are far off for that little detail, they will end up getteing less than half of that...

the biggest fights get more than half. if you have no leverage, you get 42%. if you have leverage, 50+% is possible (may-pac got close to 70%, but that's basically unheard of).

This fight isnt as big. If any they could end up getting 50-50 and that still half the numbers projected on the post... huge difference..

If that's really what they're worried about, then why not fight in May?
It's been nothing but bull**** from GBP since after the Cotto fight.

It's funny how people still don't understand this simple concept.
