I wish there was less stigma attached to a loss in boxing. I hate whenever a fighter loses and he's branded "a hype job" or "exposed". It's probably what's behind boring fights, each fighter not willing to risk his rep. I say the more we start focussing on performance the better. I'll be rooting for Brook, but I'd rather he loses in a great fight than win a 12 round danceathon.

I will always discount the GGG "fight". A fight he was EXPECTED to lose and he lost...inside the distance!
It was nothing more than a money grab and his title was NEVER on the line. So make what you will of it.
Discounting that, Brooks toughest fight has to be his life and death affair of his first fight with Carson Jones.
Spence is light years from Carson Jones.
Again I repeat. Spence will be Brook's toughest fight.Comment

its going to be a big ask for both fighters to stay within 10lbs of 147 for the same-day check-weight! i think someone could fall foul of itComment

Yes, because you have 'discounted' the GGG fight. Which means you think it will be Brook's toughest fight *except* for GGG. You can keep repeating yourself, but you basically agree with that statement, no?I will always discount the GGG "fight". A fight he was EXPECTED to lose and he lost...inside the distance!

But presumably you put Brook beneath Bundu and Algieri if you don't think this is Spence's toughest fight?
You're really hyping this kid over there, and i mean, really hyping him. Off the scale full-on nutsack sucking hype.Comment

The hype is well deserved. It does not guarantee victory because anything can happen in this game.Yes, because you have 'discounted' the GGG fight. But he is the goods.
For a fighter who has been fighting as long as Brook has, his resume is very very THIN. A shame really.
One thing is certain. Spence will be facing a stern test in Brook and as I said they both need each other to see who is the real goods.
Oh...and Spence is a far cry from Jo Jo Dan, Kevin Bizier etc. etc. Feel free to call it hype.
One thing is certain, Brook is taking this "kid" seriously!!!
And that is no hype.Comment

Brook is reaping what he sows by fighting bums and I've been disappointed with his level of competition.
I'd still put Brook above Thurman, Garcia, and Porter etc though so this is probably one of the toughest fights Spence could have picked.Comment

This is it!13 year career and only legit win but calls the guy who's been a pro for about 4 years over hyped? At least Spence had the balls to step up early in his career and fight someone and not wait 10 years like Brook did. You could say Spence is a hyped 4 year pro in the US and Brook is an ove rhyped Brit for one credible win in 13 years. Lets see who's the real deal in May
Before Porter, the best name on Brooks record was . . . . .
And since Porter, the best name on Brooks record is . . . . a loss!Comment

For what its worth.Just off the top of my head.
How does Spence beat Brook? Watch the tape of Julio Cesar Chavez v Edwin Rosario.
How does Brook beat Spence? Watch the tape of Vernon Forrest v Shane Mosely.
The question comes down to who has the natural talent, will and game plan to execute on the day.
We will find out in May!!!Comment
