    Is 130lbs the best divison?

    Can you make a case?

I think the general consensus of the best weight class is 147lbs.

Notble names 147- Thurman, Brook, Pacman, Bradley, Khan, Garcia, Vargas, Peterson, Spence, Porter, Broner, Breto

Notable names 130- Loma, Davis, Salido, Vargas, Walters, Corrales, Berchelt, Miura,Sosa, Uchiyama, Rocky Martinez, Fortuna, Farmer

      147 is overrated.

Not a crazy idea. Problem is, a lot of the names are getting near retirement or have lost stock recently. Salido has gotta be on his way out. Martinez might be done since we're coming on a year without a fight and he's been through a ton of wars like Salido. Vargas just lost. Walters lost face, big-time. Davis is just getting his feet wet. Etc.

Not that I think losses are the end of the world but when you compare it with 154 or 147, I think they have an edge. 154 has a great mix of growing talent and prime fighters. 147 has a lot of star power.
130 is solid for sure. Just not sure it beats the other two.

With Davis and Uchiyama at #6 and #7, yeah it looks pretty good. And Fortuna got eliminated from the top 10. So it's pretty stacked. It has little room for more good fighters.

Many weight classes have fighters I feel are just there because that vacancy needs to be filled, there can't a weight class with 3-4 fighters called the top 4, you have to get 6 more of the "best" of that weight class. But not 130, it's like the vacancies are filled deservedly so.

Vargas at 8, Sosa who upset Fortuna at 10. Pretty stacked.

Fortuna, Walters, Pedraza, Walsh, J. Gonzalez outside the top 10. It's a good division. It's been low-key my favorite since late last year.

Cant you say the same with 147? With Pac soon to retire and not facing any of the top anymore, Khan looking only for big pay days and Brook might move up soon.

I think Brook has realized that he won't hack it at 154 and will remain at 147 as long as possible. I think 135 is pretty darn stacked ATM, it be really nice if some sort of tourney could happen there.

Yes, which is why when we compare the names at 147 vs 130, WW wins out.
Loma is already talking about 135 and if we imagine the division without him, Salido, Martinez, it's looking pretty average. If you take Pac, Bradley, Brook, Khan out of WW, you still have a ton of names.

I do think 130 is pretty damn good right now. 147 just has it beat.

130 is a very good division ATM, but I'm not sure if it is the #1 division (definitely a division I keep an eye on more than others).
