    Hard to call.

Jacobs was too cautious in the first half of the fight, then dominated the second half of the fight, so you might think Jacobs is the guy who adjusted and figured out the other guy.

Maybe Golovkin will finally realizes he has some limits in his game and that he needs to improve, go back to the drawing board.

He got a pass vs Kell cuz he could walk through him.

He couldn't walk through Jacobs as we all thought.

I thought Golovkin won, and this because he dominated the close rounds with his jab + the KD.
    I scored it 6-6.

But I thought he was severely outboxed in some rounds, mainly when DJ switched lefty.

What GGG lacks is footwork, he can cut of the ring but he's flat footed, he should had to his game a sort of in and out like Cotto has.

I don't think his defense was that bad even if he tends to hide in his shell too much wich allows the opponent to shower him with a variety of punches and impress judges/ fans even if most of the punches are blocked.

He should have a step back in those moment, then counter, work tactically on his footwork.

DJ should have a game plan to fully neutralize GGG's jab.
That jab landed at will and costed him the fight, busted up his face.

I think the rematch will be more a mental affair than a tactical affair.

Maybe GGG overlooked DJ since it seems that he already had planned a fight with BJS in June.

Maybe DJ fought the fight of his life, dude had so much energy and will.
Will he be able to bring so much life in the rematch, and this wasn't even enough to beat triple...so , hard to call..

I had Danny winning the first fight 114-113. Most lil g fans are Trump voters because they take whatever win they can get and run quickly afterward to avoid any possible blemish. Lil g definitely got the HBO gift decision here. That's not to suggest it was a robbery, but as others have mentioned DJ outboxed lil g for probably 1/3 of the fight, with another 1/3 being about even, but the first 1/3 of the fight was mostly lil g (since DJ was hesitant early).

The funny thing about that is Harold Lederman gave the 2 rounds to DJ and not lil g.

Anyhow in a 2nd fight I think DJ stands to improve. He's bigger than lil g and a whole lot younger. The flash KD won't happen again and DJ will sit on his punches more often early on. The accumulation effect from those DJ power shots (and body work) will likely lead to a stoppage for DJ imho

Jacobs fought the fight of his life on Saturday. He did almost everything he needed to do to the win the fight. That's why I thought he won. The thing that solidified the win for me was his movement along with his well timed offense. Golovkin was used to people back away from him in a straight line. When Jacobs moved he changed direction as soon as Golovkin caught up with him. When he landed punches he never finished in a position where he was vulnerable to counters. For people saying Jacobs should have been more aggressive why wasn't Golovkin more aggressive? It's because he was confused by the movement and was leery of Jacobs power the entire fight. With that being said Jacobs made some mistakes which made it easier for Golovkin to mount an offense in key moments in the fight. Every time he did his corner let him hear about. If he can avoid those mental mistakes in a future match it would leave no doubts in the judges mind.
