    regular and interim are not world champion titles. get your **** together, cmon, youre boxing writers.
    Golovkin was the Super champion, and Jacobs the regular champion. So I think by beating Jacobs, Golovkin is now the SuperDuper champion, which I guess leaves the Super and Regular championships vacant. Or something like that.

      Too many belts.
      Yeah this is BS, GGG beat Jacobs like 4 days ago and they are already talking about the 'regular' WBA strap again smh.

            You actually think N'Dam would beat Golovkin? Are you on glue? N'Dam, the guy who got knocked down a zillion times against Lemieux, a one-dimensional brawler/power puncher, is going to outbox Golovkin.
            You've got quite an imagination, I'll give you that.

              WBA announced in 2016 that they would begin a process to eliminate interim and super world championships.

              When the announcement was made, the middleweight division already had three champions. As part of the process of eliminating titles the super champion (GGG) was ordered to face the world champion (Jacobs).

              When GGG won, Jacobs lost his status as world champion, GGG retained his status as super champion and the interim champion (N'Dam) was elevated to world champion.

              So GGG vs Jacobs did reduce the number of WBA middleweight champions from three to two. Eventually the super champion will be ordered to face the world champion again and then the WBA will have one world middleweight champion.

              I know it's a long and frustrating process, but after over 15 years of this super champion bull****, at least things are now going in the right direction.

                Boy. The idea of one unified champion in even ONE DIVISION really irks these a$$holes. Doesn't it?

                Thanks for working hard to kill the sport.

                WBA=BS all the way.

                    Wow. What progress.

                    Come on, man. That should have been it. This so-called effort to phase out the extra titles is moving like molasses.

                      its a lot of titles to get rid of. trying to get rid of 34 titles. obviously was going to take 2-3 years to make that happen.
