Spinks not getting his Due

I think people are unfairly not giving Spinks his due now. They say that he wasnt that good anyway and he will get beat if he moves up and destroyed if he fought Tito. The also say that he will lose to any of the top guys at 40 and 47. I do not agree. He is a very good boxer that will give anyone a hard time and beat 90% of these guys. Think about who matches up with Spinks the best and it would be Zab. He is also a southpaw who is faster then Cory and has more power. There is no one else who fits those catagories. The only other guy who would match up with him well is Floyd but it would still be a hard fight. I think Spinks would beat everyone at 40 and 47. The only 2 I would pick to beat him is Zab, Floyd, and it's 50/50 with DLH. I also thinks he would give Ouma and Wright a tough fight at 54 and shockingly would give Tito a tough fight at 60 and might pull the upset. No other guy would be able to catch Spinks. Zab is the perfect guy against him and it was still hard for Judah and took a long time to reach him. Tito would have a hard time getting a punch on Spinks and so would Zoo. I know what Zoo did to Zab and Mitchell but Spinks is much more defensive. You cant keep talkin about power because look at the Mayorga fight. He is powerful and fast and still couldnt reach him. Im telling you guys that styles make fights and Zab is super fast and a southpaw. Those other fighters would have hell trying to reach Spinks.

I think Tszyu matches up very well with Spinks, he always seems to do extremely well against southpaws and his accuract is 100 times better than Mayorga's not to mention he's in much better shape . Also I really don't see Spinks having enuff power to keep Tszyu at bay enuff to win the fight. But Corey is one hell of a good boxer that could very well give alot of people trouble, imo he could not beat DLH, Tszyu, Floyd, Winky, Tito, but I'd definately give him a decent shot at beating everyone else.

spinks could do very well in 154.and he will have a belt in no time......put him in vs wright or ouma.......

I'm a Spinks fan, but the only house he is going to fill is in St. Louis. As far as his skill, he is one of the most skilled boxers there is. I just see no scenario that he could compete at 154 against the big boys If Shane Mosley can't deal with Winky, what would make anyone think Spinks could? At 160,Tito would destroy him. His power is too much for Spinks. Spinks does not have enough power to keep anyone off him.

I still think he can compete and win at 147..he just needs Zab to move up in weight Zab has his number and they continue to rematch, it will get uglier each time for my man Spinks.

i probably misread, I thought someone said Spinks would be a good draw and pack houses..sorry

as far as why does everyone say that, I don't know. I say it becuase thats my opinion. Spinks is no Oscar or Hopkins at this point. I don't feel it would be fair to Spinks to put him in that catagory yet. I like Spinks and hope he proves me wrong..I just don't see it.

I think he should aim for wright, if he tries to contend with KT, he'll get dropped inside five rounds. he needs to avoid punchers, as judah pointed out, cory isn't hard to catch

another thing that is bad about cory is he thinks he's a tough guy, if you brawl with him enough and he lands a few shots, his confidence skyrockets and he gets convinced that he's a good inside fighter. this is usually when cory gets punked.
