there is no doubt in my mind they now have chemicals for these bums who are two weight classes bigger to make their weight. years ago if a CW like Jacobs dried out like that he would collapse after 5 rounds now they can fight 2 classes below their weight and go 12 rds

Anyone know why Lara never targeted pinkboi? (Cotto). That's a payday where he would definitely be the favorite over MC. (Would jigga be afraid of matching them?)

And then the young money black muricanos realized winning was not enough to be a twinkle twinkle. The crowd was asking for blood, not "sweeet science doug, clinch inside fighing".
look at my all time favorites, mostly aggresive slick blacks.

my boy gennady deserves props for fighting a heavy guy put him down and win the decision. Read todays mailbag and understand that the weight advantage mattered. Weigh in was 38 hours before fight allowing jacobs to rehydrate to 180 plus. Jacobs tried to have an advantage by bypassing the IBF title rule but at the end he didnt get the decision. Major props to the GOAT.

His stock fell and he's branded a boring runner. He's banished to fighting bums on Friday night.
I agree. I thought Danny lost a close fight and so did the judges but I can't wait to see him again, and I can't say I felt that he was a must watch guy before this fight (even if us hardcore fans watch it all anyway haha).

Comparing Danny to Lara is unfair. Danny boxed effectively with movement and came up a little short...Lara ran. Danny's performance should be appreciated and get him more big fights where as Lara's was hard to watch and now he can't land a big fight because of it.

              Lara, yes.

Jacobs did what he had to do and can still be a star.

Lara never had a chance at stardom. He can't speak a lick of English and his fighting style doesn't appeal to casual fans. Not everyone can be Floyd.

Huh? Jacobs beat lil g, period. Lara is an overrated track star who can punch a little bit.

Jacobs gained fans even in losing the "gift" to HBO's favorite ballworshipper lil g. Lara lost fans even if the decision had gone his way. Lara talked lots of **** about "Cuban" boxing school...and proceeded to literally run for 2/3 the fight.

nah, that was only the floyd fans saying that to discredit ggg's win and if its a close fight.

jacobs did his best man. he damn near won that fight. he just didn't have the boxing skills to deal with the jab before golovkin started to slow down. ithnk they prepared very well for a hard puncher. i bet jacobs was literally on the ropes in sparring and rolling shots to get used to it. they clearly didn't anticipate the jab, which is golovkin's best punch and the only reason he's gotten as far as he has.

lara, on the other hand, blew it. he had what it took and he threw it away.

close fights aren't robberies. people have been siting the adage that you need to "take" the title away from the champion for as long as people have been boxing, and that is 100% true. it shouldn't be a factor, but it is! if you're the challenger and facing a star or a potential star you need to look for a knockout or for damage that is so easy to score that you can't lose the rounds. neither guy did that. but credit to jacobs, who tried his best and proved a lot.

lara didn't try his best. he ran and avoided contact in spots where he could have taken risks and scored more points or even hurt canelo. he proved that he had the skills but didn't take the steps he needed to distance himself from a fighter who was slower than he was and who he proved could be beaten to the punch.
