Am I crazy for thinking that Floyd would kill Oscar? Not just beat him but dominate him.
Alot of people watched the Mayorga fight and now think that Oscar will either kill Floyd, beat Floyd, or he might lose but it will be very respectable.
I didnt see that fight when it happened but I watched the HBO replay the following week. During the replay there were other things going on in my house, so I saw it but wasnt a 100% focused on it. After the fight I read alot of media articles saying how well Oscar will do but then I read some that said that Mayorga was a perfect opponent for Oscar and that it would be a totally different fight against Floyd.
After reading that last comment I went back and rewatched it and I think its true. Oscar dominated Mayorga but watching it made me think he would get killed by Floyd. Its a matter of styles. I still think Floyd really belongs at 140 but is so talented that he will beat everyone at 147 even at a disadvantage. At 154 he will be at a huge disadvantage and will probally weigh 20 pounds less then Oscar during the fight but I still think he kills him.
When I watched the Mayoga fight I came away thinking that Oscar is almost as much as a perfect opponent for Floyd as Mayorga was for Oscar. Oscar was fast but wasnt that fast. He's much slower now and you can see all his punches coming. Then he killed Mayora with his power but it really didnt seem like he was all that powerful. I dont want to take anything away from Oscar but it almost seemed like it was a combination of Tito ruining him and the steroids. Those punches that Oscar was hurting him with werent even that hard.
To me, I think Floyd will see every punch coming, he will beat Oscar to the punch everytime, will hardly ever get hit cleanly, and will just dominate him the way Mosley did in there 1st fight for the last 6 rounds but Floyd will do it for the whole fight. You might say that Floyd doesnt have Shane's power but Oscar isnt that same guy that fought Shane and Shane doesnt have Floyds defense or technique.
My final thought is that I think Floyd will beat Oscar so eaily that alot of people will try not to give Floyd credit for it and will just say that he beat a washed up Oscar who Mayorga made look good. I doubt Floyd has enough power to finish a tough Oscar at 154 but it will still be a complete outclassing looking performance and it will look sad at times. You can talk about Oscars left hook all day but Floyd always keeps his right hand by his face and he will never get hit with that punch.
