If GGG does in fact unify with Saunders, we'll get a glimpse at what a real boxing division looks like. The real and only champion will defend his title against guys who genuinely have to fight other top guys to earn a shot. Finally, this is going to happen. It's been too long. More fights like Lemieux-Stevens will be going down. If they got rid of 154, you'd really see an explosion but this is a step in the right direction. I hope this belt stays unified for a few years. We'll be getting the best 160 pound fights we've seen in decades.

It's a nice break from the division-hopping nonsense that defined the previous generation of boxing. We never really knew who was the best anywhere and just got blockbuster p4p semi-freakshow matchups which, while generating massive revenue, turned the sport into a jackson pollock "painting".
Someone just send Canelo the memo.Last edited by ////; 03-20-2017, 08:12 PM.Comment

Dude, that's brilliant. Very poetic and right on the mark. You can take the rest of the day off after that. I'll send green K if it'll let me.It's a nice break from the division-hopping nonsense that defined the previous generation of boxing. Oh man. That's a dream come true. Every title defense is a real title defense. The hype would even be well deserved. They may have to at some point since some of these extra divisions tend to suck most of the time.Comment

It won't stay unified for long. The crooked sanctioning bodies will strip the champ just for fighting each other's mandatories. It's impossible for a division to stay unified in the modern world of boxing.Comment
