I also streamed, but ...
So we can all go back and forth over rumors, just like this board does over every negotiating media release .... or we can wait a 1-2 weeks and see official numbers (or no official numbers, which is a bad sign).Comment

Not sure why ya'll always argue and celebrate low ppv numbers..none of these current fighters are huge draws..Canelo is the biggest one and he isnt HUGE like Oscar makes him out to be...Just enjoy the fights and as a fan keep hoping these good fights keep getting madeComment

so called hardcore/purist boxing fans don't buy ****. the money is in the casual market. Floyd and Oscar understood this. Oscar had a leg up though being Mexican-American since in the U.S. Mexican fans run boxing. but in order to do great numbers on PPV you have to appeal to the casual world. that's why these boxers are put on morning shows, to convince non-boxing fans to pay for their fight.
watch the difference with Floyd/Mcgregor. a fight that hardcore fans despise but casuals love. watch that fight do at least 3 million buys. easy. because to sell PPV you have to convince non-boxing fans to pay.
Kovalev/Ward was a mega fight. but only for hardcore fans. same for Postol/Crawford.
GGG has all the qualities to be a PPV star but being from Kazakhstan hurts his appeal. imagine GGG being from P.R. and tell me if any of his PPV's flop. not a chance.
that's why I don't celebrate when a PPV flops because I understand why that is.
Floyd was hated for being "boring" but became PPV king by appealing to casuals.
4.5 million homes paid for Floyd/Pacquiao. guaranteed 80% of those homes are non-boxing fans. just casuals. that's where the money is. this is why GGG is learning Spanish to broaden his appeal and Canelo doesn't give a damn about speaking English because he has a leg up being where he's from.Comment

The bean counters at HBO, UFC, The Ring, ShowTime, PBC, etc. are doing it wrong.
If they were smart, they'd copy WWE and build networks for a monthly fee that gets you all fights. If each was $10/month for unlimited fight streaming with no commercials, I'd get them all. Where others can just focus on the network/stream that gives them their fighters of choice.
UFC has it part way, but they still charge for PPV and I'm not down with that.Comment
