How great a fight was Chocolatito vs Sor Rungvisa?

Obviously, the fallout from the GGG-DJ fight, and in fact, the scoring controversy of this fight too, means that it's kinda gotten a little lost how good a fight this was. And I'm just trying to gauge how highly people rate it.

Watching it live at MSG, it felt like an extraordinary fight, the crowd was tremendously into it, it was a very pro-Roman crowd.

I'll have to rewatch it to assess it again but how did you all see it in terms of its pure quality?

The fight was truly great. But thai guy spent 12 r taking Roman's shots as if they were nothing, headbutting him a few times. So his neglecting defence (and dirty tricks) lowered the quality of boxing..

i thought this fight was way more exciting than the main event lol. aside from the short running in the 12th round by the thai fighter, this fight was a war and very entertaining.

I was greatly impressed with Rungvisai. Raw, rugged but there was a special something about him. He's basically what I expected Zou Shiming to have been.

Headbutts weren't intentional, it's going to happen when you have a southpaw and orthodox match, and especially when two guys go into the trench for war like these two did. If Choco didn't want to get butted, he should have stayed at range. The Cuadras fight clearly taught him nothing.

And I don't think there was a scoring contraversy at all rungvaisi won 114 112 he landed the harder shots and was bullying roman.

It was amazing. The GGG fight felt like a let down in comparison

My stream cut out half-way through and then kicked back in from like round 9 onwards, so I'll have to rewatch, but as much as I saw, GREAT fight. I certainly would've liked to see Gonzalez be a little more defensive because you could just tell there was some real weight behind Rungvisa's punches. Otherwise, really enjoyed the action. I can't quite say if Gonzalez truly lost the fight, but he seemed to have won a lot of the rounds that I caught.

                  Anyways, it's a fight I'll rewatch.

I was at MSG too. It was captivating. I don't think I have ever seen as brutal of a fight live with maybe the exception of Mike Perez vs. Magomed. I felt horrible for Roman because I thought he won 8 rounds in the fight, but at the same time I was impressed at how much of a warrior Rungvisa was. It was hard to boo a guy that tough and who had to survive by eating out of the garbage growing up. But I thought Roman did more than enough to win even though he got the **** kicked out of him. I don't think he will ever be the same after that.
