  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin and Canelo - Long Live The Kings

By Tris Dixon - Crowns are passed down from generation to generation. Sometimes they are won and sometimes they are lost, but one constant remains. They do, inevitably, change hands. Gennady Golovkin still sits atop the middleweight throne this week if not the linear throne, of course but his crown has slipped. They may be in a noisy minority, but there are plenty who feel the WBA, IBO WBC and IBF champion lost to Brooklyn's Danny Jacobs, and that Golovkin didn't earn to walk out of the ring with his unified crown...

GGG = a King that excites people and fights anyone (Notice Seinfeld, Louis CK, Dave Chappelle in the audience - people want to be entertained)

Canelo = a Princess with the charisma of a wet noodle, promoted by a she-male that gave away his belt, no one is going to watch his boring ass catchweight fight against a drained mexican waiter

Danny was landing the uppercut all night and when he let off flurries GGG just froze.

upper body movement nullified GGG attacks on the ropes.

GGG needs space, stationary target and be able to have both feet planted before he fires. he has a rock solid chin, missile jab and great timing but Danny's handspeed and reflexes made him think twice.

Canelo has faster handspeed and better reflexes than Jacobs. a better uppercut, better defense and way better counter puncher. GGG fires one shot at a time, Canelo is gonna be slipping shots inside and ripping off combos like a beast.

GGG chin will keep him upright but he'll lose a wide decision. taking a beating.

why people hypng jacobs 10 lbs over should be a felony ..lol

seems to be lost.. I said it yesterday among whom I thought were boxing's analyst and all praising hail high or shall I back that HOW Hi u must be to spray that ish all over the web and news n hbo and this great site of boxers talking here let me say this once more
even Roy Jones knows. i'm sure Paulie was somewhere wishing he was in that ring andof course Adrian was Toothed out Talking Smack somewhere as well but back 2 tha situation at hand

If Danny Jacobs feels he won... lets be clear... he tried to use every advantage to win. like by adding more then 10 pounds.. literally more then 10 cause the clause stated whether or not each or both fighters were to add up too literally UP TOO 10 pounds, then that 10 lbs. prior to fight night weigh in they still would be contractually obligated to duke it out for the belts so this tell me DJ was OVER that PLUS 10..... u go back look n listen clear and check the weigh ins and listen and look for contract statements online n tell me how accurate i am and why i have a problem w danny coming n saying he shoulda won 2 more rounds BULL u shoulda been deducted another 2 for the disadvantage you started with I mean 10 lbs changes Vegas odds

So lets think this thru, this is the situation (pretend your danny) right up in the telly talkin to ur manz n them bout how you would do. do you risk maybe the last chance you will ever see a belt again? oh what i'm wrong to think this way? oh ok lets break this down A. the deepest divisions...B the stiffest competition and C. if you had the belts would you seriously give a dude a chance to pull up on ya n run them LBS over you a 2nd time? hum... very strong thoughts... very serious long term effects of a short sighted coach .....

Danny boy Swung for that trap game.. to be etched in history as the first person to lay out, knock down or knock out GGG... this as we all seen did not happen. now Danny did lay some nice shots. and not many in my total calculations (personal counted) I only seen 27 from his swings including the 3 upper cuts that landed not the 11 or so that compu box tallied.... anyway..

GGG I see allot of people grind him up for having pre-destined set lined up match-ups but he took on the best well second best available to him..and to be fair he still fought DANNY JACOBS KNOWING HE WAS WAY OVER 10 lbs Like maybe closer to 15 plus more LBS.he took that and went the distance (partially a game plan yes full on 12 rounds to prepare his mind and body) for the Biggest Fight outside of Mayweather and McGregor and both cards would pull the most ever for boxing and I love it... now this lines him up a full 5 weeks behind Canelo.. but we realistically will not see this fight til August or September if at all possible and to me most logical would be thanksgiving night or even christmas eve... but id wanna see this fight in summer and on heavy full tilt status..

boo hoo ... GGG was outweighed by 10 pounds. big deal. he was 170 on fight night so he wasn't a damn middleweight either. this kind of stuff was the norm for Mayweather. nobody ever gave a damn.

                Jacobs won 115-112.

Don't see a rematch happening. Danny Jacobs is not a real middleweight and that's why all the shernanigans surrounding the really early first weigh in then Jacobs being a no show for the second. What most also fail to realize is Jacobs LOST the fight and it was only close when looking at it from the perspective of a Jacobs fan who gave any round Danny wasn't knocked down in to him. Jacobs landed some good shots and his light heavyweight size prevented him from being knocked out but even with every advantage given him, he lost! GGG haters are now saying what a great boxer Canelo is and how now he'll beat GGG. Father time will be the downfall of GGG and not Canelo who folks have already forgot has avoided GGG to the point of giving up his title and moving down to fight blown up welterweights. As a boxer ? Well Mayweather embarrassed him and even his handlers know he's limited and that's why you see all the careful cherry picking of opponents. Lets be honest the only thing that makes Canelo so marketable is his ability to draw boatloads of fans because of his mexican heritage not his awesome boxing ability. Canelo can be defined as a young mexican fighter who has beaten some of the best smaller, past their prime fighters still active today. He should fight a few active middleweight contenders before he gets a shot at the title. Why reward him for running away
