by beating Jacobs, GGG surpasses Hopkins at MW!!

this is Hopkins reign at MW..

    Sergundo Mercado
    Steve Frank
    Joe Lipsey
    William Bo James
    John David Jackson
    Glen Johnson
    Andrew Council
    Simon Brown
    Robert Allen (3X)
    Antwun Echols (2X)
    Syd Vandepool
    Keith Holmes
    Felix Trinidad
    Carl Daniels
    Morrade Hakkar
    William Joppy
    Oscar De La Hoya
    Howard Eastman

.. name one guy on this list that beats the Jacobs we saw vs GGG.. *crickets*

Tito would've been embarrassed since he has no jab and can't cut a ring like GGG.

DLH at 160 would lose vs the Brook we saw vs GGG. no need to match him up with Jacobs.

    so there you have it

    GGG > Hopkins (at 160)

and a strong case can be made he even surpassed Hagler. what MW did Hagler beat better than Jacobs?

we need to appreciate greatness. GGG is a rare breed. how many fighters you know would be planning to get back in the ring three months after their toughest fight??

this is a 1 year layoff for anybody else.

we are witnessing arguably the greatest middleweight to ever do it. show appreciation.

Glen Johnson beats GGGs entire resume so does Trinidad.

You left out some people from that era of MWs, Roy Jones, James Toney, Mike MCallum, Eubanks, Benn and all beat GGG and Jacobs.

I agree. I mean Hopkins fought a bunch of tomato cans and smaller fighters coming up in weight until he ran into A young Taylor and lost. ( i thought he got robbed but oh well )

GG can surpass Hop's 160 reign if he hadnt already.

So what are you saying its the title of who has the biggest list of cans .

They both have cans on the resumes but Bernard proved himself against ATG fighters and went the distance with Kovalev age 50,,, GGG is so over rated for beating cans its not funny, truth is in Bhops era at MW GGG could not win a title, he would have been exposed way before a title fight.

From that era you got Toney, Jones, McCallum, Eubanks Benn Watson the era was very deep.

I don't believe that Golovkin is the greatest MW and I don't even have him in my top 5 but you're really reaching for straws. Are you really gonna go out of your way to ignore what he posted? We're talking about what Hopkins did AT MIDDLEWEIGHT. He didn't fight those great "era fighters" except Roy Jones and we all saw what happened. Tell me which one of the fighters from Hopkins' MW reign Golovkin would lose to.

Hopkins fought a prime RJJ and didn't get KTFO

              GGG couldn't do that.

Having Jones on his resume beats GGG...not to mention Oscar and Tito.

Tito and Oscar are smaller but so are Brook....Rosado....Ishiida....Ouma...Rubio...all moved up from lower divisions.

Hopkins has ATG's on his resume.

It's not just about the W, it's about how you earn those Ws to build your legacy.

Go watch Hopkins destruction of a prime, undefeated Glen Johnson.

There was no question about who won that fight.

That's how an ATG handles his business.

You mean a novice Glen Johnson who went on to lose about 15 more fights before finding his footing?
