    Cotto Vs Torres (2005)

Just re-watched this fight. From the undercard of Wlad Vs Peter.
Cotto (24-0) / Torres (28-0). Real fun fight.

Cotto with some great early body work. Torres landing some bombs.

I actually don't think i'd viewed the fight again since back in the day. So it was fun to re-watch it.

Shout out to the poster who has the scorecard as their sig, (and a Manny avi).
I can't quite recall the username, so apologies for that. But i saw a post of theirs the other day and it gave me a push to go back and catch the fight again.

      Great fight...

Big drama show.. blue chip, rising star cotto was starting to take legit world ranked guys like Corley, pinto, Torres. Torres rocked cotto and had him in some serious trouble..

Torres had some other classics with Kendall holt.. both fights with holt were barnburners. Highly recommend them

I cant believe that fight was nearly 12 years ago cuz it seems like yesterday. Thinking back, Cotto overcame some crucial moments in his early days. I thought Torres was going to finish him but he proved me wrong..

Few fights prior Chop Chop corley had him on ***** street made him do the puerto rican salsa dance but he came through in that one as well..

And before that lovemore n dou had him on the bike in the late rounds but he passed that test as well...

I was never a fan of cotto but it is going to be awhile before another Rican star like him emerges.

8 years ago! Not one for fans of 'the jab'
          A fun fight though. Especially rounds 1 & 5.

Nice to hear Emanuel Steward on commentary.

That was a classic fight, good gun fight.

I thought when Cotto moved up to 147 and fought Carlos Quintana, I actually picked Quintana to win that fight because of the struggles I saw Cotto in against Corley and Torres. But man did he prove me wrong and destroyed Quintana. In hindsight those problems he was having in those fights attributed to him having trouble making weight at 140 and draining himself. As we saw, he took shots better once he moved up in weight.
