Kov has a better resume by a long shot.

I thought Kov won and GGG lost their recent fights.

Either way you have it, Ward was a way better opponent than Jacobs. I dont see Kov struggling with a jacobs level opponent.

Ward is several levels better than jacobs though as an opponent. Having a close fight with ward isnt the same as having a close fight with jacobs.

GGG doesn't faint enough, something Kovalev does great. GGG doesn't use lateral movement, he cuts the ring off great but throws punches from pretty much right in front of you 100% of the time. GGG doesn't counter great, he tends to put the gloves up and deflect the punches before firing back, his offense comes to a stop when the other guy throws way too often. Technically he's pretty damn great but he does have flaws. His chin is ATG level though, he can eat some bombs and walk through, I've never seen the guy hurt a little bit. That 2 piece Jacobs hit him with was vicious and he just shrugged and walked after him like the terminator. They're both really great fighters, if they were the same size it would be tough to pick one or the other.

And if they were the same size I would pick Ward over GGG because he'd just beat him up inside. GGG needs space to land the jab and right hand.

Now hes a mosnter all of a sudden lol. i wasnt hugely impressed with the skill level on show in ward v kovalev either, didnt look like the two best P4P fighters to me.

wards resume was terrible for the last 5 years after the super six. I think he really showed his rust the first half of the fight. The second half though he showed the skill is still there, it just came on too late imo and didnt get enough rounds to overcome the knockdown and first half.

ward pisses me off though not taking his career seriousl, wasting his talent fighting bums and now ducking a kov rematch, which I think he would win convincingly if he actually put the effort in.

Ward is a great fighter but honestly he didn't show me anything special against Kovalev. He fought his heart out coming back from the knockdown but he just kinda mauled Kovalev on the inside, he didn't put on any kind of masterclass performance like some claim from round 6 on.

Golovkin is more skilled, but Kov has the better resume. As for who hits harder, I'd say Kov probably has a higher ceiling, but I think Golovkin has a higher floor. He seems to have really heavy hands and every shot hurts.

GGG is better in all departments!
His jab is excellent as demonstrated against Danny!
Koval did not use his jab to combinate from or set up Ward
                for other punches.
The amateur background has a lot to do with the differences between them. Both like to pressure however GGG can box and does have upper body moves shown against Danny by using shoulder rolls and slipping.
He just has more experience than Koval and he's has better over all skills.

Koval better get in the ring and stop waiting on Ward or by the time that fight comes he won't be sharp or in top condition. Gym time is fine but Koval needs to fight, Ward can get away with less time because he can adapt Koval can't.

This may be a fairly new concept to you, being a hardcore Golovkin fan, but it turns out that when you are an elite fighter and you take a fight against an elite fighter ranked around your level and the odds are 50/50ish and you go in there and do very well.... some people are gonna think more highly of you afterwards.

I know I came out of that fight with more respect and reverence for both fighters.

I still think it's Golovkin, better punch selection and variety, greater durability and power. Kovalev has the slightly better jab and is the better outside/long range fighter. I used to think it was clear who was better but after recent events I give it to Golovkin by just a bit. It's up for debate.
