Because Golovkin was pretty heavy too, lol. He was barely under the 160lb weight limit, and he was barely under the limit for the IBF; say what you want about Jacobs, don't act like Golovkin didn't end up walking into the ring 174/175lbs on fight night.

Curtis Stevens stepped on the IBF scale, if my memory is right, at 167 the morning of the fight.

To here y'all tell it, Jacobs walked into the fight Kovalev's size or some ****.

And Golovkin looked small? lol. Golovkin, on the morning of the fight, stepped on the scales JUST below the IBF check weight; come actually stepping into the ring, Golovkin definitely added more weight.

The notion that Jacobs put on anything like 25lbs (when Golovkin, himself, likely put on near 15lbs himself) in 36 hours is silly.

No one knows; HBO only showed Golovkin's IBF second-day weight, with neither fighter stepping on the usual HBO "unofficial scale" (how it actually works is unknown to me, but it was always my belief that HBO had the fighters step on the scale when they show up at the venue).

That extra 15-20 pounds makes a difference, just ask Joey Gamache and countless other fighters who were KTFO by blown up fighters who went up two or more weight classes on day of the fight.
Do you honestly believe that Jacobs outweighed Golovkin by 15-20lbs on fight night, seeing that Golovkin already added 10lbs by Saturday morning (with another handful of pounds with breakfast/lunch/dinner before the fight)?

You're saying that, in 36 hours, Daniel Jacobs was able to add on 30lbs and not have that weight affect the way he fought. gtfoh

lol LHs cannot weigh-in at 159lbs, people need to learn boxing instead of making BS excuses that make no sense.

No he didn't, i'm tired of people exaggerating fight night weights like when people call Canelo a cruiserweight and Crawford against Gamboa a junior middleweight lol it's just ******.

Don't get me wrong Jacobs is a huge middleweight but no light heavyweight is making 160, it's pretty simple.

Then why wouldn't he weigh in? Yes, 20 pounds is easy to pack on at that weight. Canelo and Chavez have walked into a ring at 180 easy. Lamont Peterson came in at 165 for a welterweight class with Garcia. That's 18 pounds for a welter in 24 hours.
