... during the 12th round, I posted (here) exactly this "scorecard"...

Rungvisai stopped everything with his face, that was his defense, i can't understand how some people think he won.

The reason this fight is so debatable is because the amount of clean head rocking work Chocalito put in but no matter what he hit him with Rungvisai didn't seem discouraged or stunted. He put on relentless pressure and continued to throw and made it seem like roman could not affect him or discourage him. It's hard to score the rounds because

Rungvisai, worked from bell to bell with a measured, composed, yet relentless pace.

Usually geting hit with clean shots backs you off, at least momentarily. But he never backed off.

If he had backed off or slowed his output it wouldn't have been easy to give the rounds to Gonzalez. How can you measure effective aggression in this fight?

This fight is nightmare to judge while watching without the benefits of replay or changing your mind.

I scored if for roman but wouldn't call it a robbery either way. As both men threw and absorbed everything.

These guys abandoned Boxing criteria and forgot that defense is a factor in judging : how do you beat a guy that outclasses you and breaks a compux-box record on you? Gonzalez fought like the challenger and made this boy run...if you are going to beat the consensus P4P you got to clearly beat him in most categories : Clean punching, Effective Aggression, Ring-Generalship, and Defense...all Rungivisai brought was Aggression and clearly did not out fight Gonzalez in that department either as other poster mentioned he 'looked' the bigger stronger man but this is not a beauty contest.

I'm surprised that the fans of slick boxers did not contest this decision -- I mean according to them skills pay the bills but suddenly that no longer applies and reckless aggression ( not effective aggression ) is rewarded? the hypocrisy I feel is rooted in the desire to have their fighter above Gonzalez in the P4P and they been waiting for any reason to have a stronger argument.

I call it down the middle, when DSG lost I studied the film and acknowledged that Thurman beat him despite having him winning at first ; I favor skilled fighters no matter the race and was really disappointed in some people that I thought were objective fans of the sweet-science when I read some comments.

That Photoshop is hilarious btw bro!

How? By landing less punches and constantly backpedaling? Gonzales was the aggressor who landed more shots and just as importantly landed the more telling shots.

If you are going to give ground and fight on the back-foot you have to be seen to be clearly dictating the fight, rungvoisier clearly wasnt doing that.

that simply is not true gonzales was just standing thier taking punches through and around his guard rungvoisier also was able to turn gonzales at will and make him loook foolish because he is faster and stronger and more techinical

ran from gonzales?? im not a fan of either guy but i did watch this fight live and i had the thai guy winning a very close fight. the 12th round was the only round he "ran" but as soon as the crowd started booing, he stayed his ground and traded with gonzalez.

Then we must have watched different fights because Gonzales was blocking and slipping most of the shots, and he wasnt just standing there he was applying pressure and walking down Rungvisai, landing hard shots in the process. Rungvisai is clearly quite a tough guy but even he was aware that he couldn't just stand and trade with Gonzales which is why he tried fighting on the back foot.

And in regards to turning Gonzales at will, yeah he was clearly the stronger man physically and was initially bullying Gonzales until Gonzales started to land some power shots.
