This fight is a classic case of the underdog doing much better than he was supposed to and people rewarding him for not getting destroyed.

His jab and the knockdown are exactly why he won that fight in my opinion. Jacobs head looked like a ****ing paddle ball early in the fight.

          This. THIS.

Danny Jacobs was in survival mode from round 1. And he survived valiantly. But he did NOT win 7 rounds, no way in hell. No-one in the damn arena thought that either.

Jacobs fought a purely reactionary fight. There is nothing in the fight you can look at and say Jacobs was trying to set that up all night long.

GGG used the jab consistently, was setting Jacobs up for shots, and towards the end was walking Jacobs into the right uppercut basically at will.

It was pretty clear GGG was avoiding digging the left to the body because one of Jacobs best shots is a short right uppercut off of that.

Credit to Jacobs for being more durable than we thought, but being more durable than we thought doesn't win you rounds.

Nor does coming into a fight 10-15lb heavier than your opponent.

Or getting out landed, and out thrown.

7-5 or 8-4 ggg. I'll rewatch it later because I was watched it hosting a fight party. Just felt like Jacobs was trying to survive so im not sure how anyone can give him more than 5 rounds.

I had Jacobs 8-4 after rewatching it 2 times.
