Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez Expects Jacobs to Come After Golovkin in 1st Round

NEW YORK Abel Sanchez expects an aggressive Daniel Jacobs to test Gennady Golovkin early Saturday night. Jacobs is known as a fast starter and immediately attacking Peter Quillin obviously paid off for him. The WBA world middleweight champion hurt Quillin with a right hand just 47 seconds into their December 2015 fight at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, and needed just 85 seconds overall to stop Quillin and secure the most noteworthy win of his nine-year pro career.

Who knows, lets not forget Virgil is working with him, so he may jab and grab and place his shots, best skill Golovkin has is he doesn't let you do your game plan, but don't be shocked if this fight is a chessmatch, this ins't no Lemiuex/Stevens type fight

Jacobs only shot is to catch Golovkin early with something effective ala Peter Quillin. If he doesn't Golovkin will deliver a methodical beat down until he's ready to end the fight. Business as usual. Just my opinion but best of luck for both fighters.

LOL, Coach Sanchez is trying to add a little bit more hype to this fight.

I doubt it. He might try that, but it seems like his people would know better than to try and change his style. He's not used to fighting like that and it wouldn't be natural or instinctive for him. He'll be thinking too much and burning off energy inefficiently.

I see him using his feet to move in and out. Trying to **** hard to get Golovkin's respect, but getting the hell away after he lands. For Danny to be successful it's really going to depend on his stamina.
His attribute advantages in this fight are his range, speed, and mobility. That's what you should expect him to use. If he goes on the inside to wrestle, he'll get chewed up like Ouma did, only quicker. He's not built for or used to that.

That would play into Golovkins hand. Jacobs need to save his energy, pot shot, tie him up, don't let Golovkin set his feet, stay off the ropes. But we all know Jacobs will get caught eventually, the guy just isn't good enough to do it.

Yeah you're probably right, but it seems like most people haven't even watched Jacobs fight other than the Quillin fight, the guy is very, very patient, he doesn't attack, he's always using the Jab, moving, and waiting for his opportunity to counter

Yeah, he's a much lower volume puncher than Golovkin. He might use movement and try to counter from the outside.

Jacobs vs Truax, Fletcher, and Lorenzo are the best fights to watch to see how Jacobs fights. He often fights on the back foot.

Surprising to see he has so much power always fighting of the back foot
