Comments Thread For: Sanchez on Canelo: Jacobs is a Bigger Threat To Golovkin

Pound-for-pound ace Gennady Golovkin knows he will be in his toughest fight to date when he takes on knockout king Danny Jacobs on Saturday night. The Kazakh warrior faces cancer survivor and the hard-hitting Jacobs, who has stopped 29 of his 32 opponents, this weekend in New York.

Boxing is different from other sports. In other sports, the best players are the most popular while in boxing there are several other factors that play into a fighters popularity aside from skills. Such as nationality, look, promotional backing etc. While Canelo is the biggest name, he definitely isn't the best. Jacob's is arguably a bigger threat to ggg than Canelo but this fight will likely only do a quarter of the ppv sales compared to ggg vs Canelo.

All I can say is those judging just because they handed the belt that was all due to a 15 day deadline. GGG has had the chance to sign the contract 2 x sense then for 15 mil. Plus.
To add nobody dictates the terms unless its Floyd against Canelo.
Canelo is the money, the A side not GGG. I believe GGG dismantles Jacobs to be honest. I think Canelo would stop out box Jacobs with ease. I think the only thing being pushed here is trying to get canelo to give in a little on terms so GGG can get more money as it will be a super fight. I think Canelo will be GGG toughest fight by far. Solid chin, boxing, power, defence, IQ to be so young. The difference will be true fight experience which GGG has a awesome amateur back ground with 5 loses to 350 wins!!! Major experience. But Canelo started pretty much pro at what 16 to GGG at 26. Canelo has faced much better boxers then GGG in the pro. But the amateur back ground plays major part of experience. I say its a 55/45 fight in my eyes favoring GGG, right now. Let's see how Canelo does with a true light heavy weight being Chavez at this point in his career. I don't think Chavez has the heart, abilities or speed nor work rate to beat Canelo but if Canelo kos Chavez. Major props which means he will be caring his power up with a solid chin Chavez. Chavez will not be fighting Sergio which beat his ass for 11/1/2 rounds . I think canelo hits much harder and precise.
GGG vs Canelo is still top fight to watch right now. GGG is just trying to get him to bend a little on the A side to get him for sure in the ring.

I agree with him... I'd rather go into a ring knowing my block can be taken off for more than 2.5. (Hence the risk) Against Canelo if they lose who gives a ****... they can retire.

Jacobs has done amazingly already to beat cancer, and there is no greater battle than that. As for this fight, probably gotta predict a Golovkin tko or ko.
