Comments Thread For: Arum: In 5 Years, Conlan-Stevenson Will Be New Age Hagler-Hearns

Back in September 2016, after the controversy of the Olympics, Michael Conlan announced that he was joining Bob Arum's Top Ranks promotions as he launched a professional career. The Belfast boxer and 2012 Olympic bronze medallist will make his pro debut on Friday night at the Theater in Madison Square Garden against Tim Ibarra (4-4).

Arum can be an a**hole but I really hope he will still be alive to promote and witness that.

History has shown, like Mayweather-Cotto and Pacquiao-Crawford, Arum does not like to match two undefeated in-stable guys when one is generating a lot more money than the other..

There would have to be a lot of money for him to make that fight.

Yeah, maybe it can be the co-main to Gamboa/Lopez.

First they, Stevenson in particular have to prove they can fight on a pro level but tbh I don't see anything special or any star power in these guys no interesting backgrounds no nothing to get the mass fans to gravitate toward.. we really need more younger talent

Mayweather and Chico fought they were both like 24/25 and undefeated. Same pattern here

Yeah except it looked like Chico's career was over as he was going to prison for 5 years. It was a cash out and he showed up in diminished form. Not like a Leonard/Hearns.
