Undefeated Gennady Golovkin defends his undisputed world middleweight boxing title against hard-hitting American Daniel Jacobs on Saturday in a showdown of knockout power punchers at Madison Square Garden. Kazakhstan's Golovkin, 36-0 with 33 knockouts, risks the World Boxing Council, World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation crowns against Jacobs, 32-1 with 29 knockouts.

What an upset if Jacobs can pull this off.

Essentially he has incredible self belief. Will he be in denial then if he loses? Because if he loses he can admit that his belief system was wrong or he can make an excuse in order to protect his belief system. Happens to all of us all the time. The art of introspection is a lost art because confronting one's weaknesses is too painful.

Seems like most of Golovkins opponents say something along the lines of "everyone else has lost before the fight because they're scared but not me"
I personally don't think that most of them have been scared. They've just lost plain and simple.

Kinda sounds like he hasn't quite convinced himself that he has what it takes to win this one.

Indentifying and accepting one's weaknesses is the first step to conquering those same weaknesses. One cannot destroy an enemy that he himself does not believe exists.

Fonfara was giving him that militant euro work. Jacobs is prepared. Looks heftier now since the Pirog bout, naturally as guys age. Jacobs seems to be stronger since the Pirog fight.

                  Let's go USA!!!
