Comments Thread For: David Haye: I Think I'll Be Back By Year's End, I Will Be Champion!

Former two division champion David Haye is targeting a ring return before the end of the year. Haye (28-3, 26 KOs) suffered a major setback earlier this month at the O2 Arena in London, when he was stopped in eleven rounds by heated rival Tony Bellew, who had moved up from the cruiserweight division to take the fight.

If he's back by the end of the year, then it's not a serious injury

Sorry Dave but you're a shot fighter. The hand speed is frankly slowass and the timing has gone. If you want to fight Joshua and Wilder and get killed, then be our guest. I'll be sure to watch it on cricfree or something.

This man is either ridiculous or deluded or a bit of both.Had he have beaten Bellew he still really wouldn't or shouldn't have been considered for a undeserved title shot.Having lost to cruiserweight Bellew this is now a ridiculous statement

It has always been my intention to retire before my 31st birthday and I plan to stick to that. I want to get out of the sport with my faculties still intact, having achieved everything I set out to do.

“I don't want to be one of these boxers that hangs around too long and becomes a shadow of their former self. I've seen too many of my favourite fighters do that over the years. For example, Roy Jones, Jr. should retired after beating John Ruiz in 2003 to win a world heavyweight title.”

“I know that a lot of people don't believe I'll stick to my word, but I've never been one to sway from my plans. If I make a promise, I stick to it."

"I won't be like Bernard Hopkins and keep pushing the deadline back or just forget it altogether. I feel this timeframe gives me enough time to achieve what I want to achieve in the sport and also help get me out at the right time.

^^^ This is what Haye said in 2010, unfortunately he's falling into the exact trap he said he wanted to avoid. He can't stay away, I understand the competitor in him would want to avenge the Bellew loss but what's to say another part of his body won't let him down? his athletic style can't be successful with major injuries and pushing 37.

Mark de Mori might be available for another tuneup.

The Only champion haye would have any chance with these days is Parker

Even Parker would box rings around him if his last showing is anything to go by

Shot to s**t . Better off retiring off to Cyprus buying a bar or some sheet
