Score Card Error, Barrera Wins

It has now been reported that when the live HBO telecast went off the air, it was revealed that the 114-114 score card which made the fight between WBC super featherweight champion Marco Antonio Barrera and Rocky Juarez a draw, was incorrectly tallied. The 114-114 score card was later revealed to 115-114 for Barrera, making the champion a split-decision winner. The new score tallies are 115-114 Barrera, 115-114 Juarez and 115-113 Barrera.

Barrera Wins -- Decision changed

Jim Lampley just came on HBO and said the decision had been changed, as the judge who scored it 114-114 (Morita from Japan, iirc) supposedly actually had it 115-114 Barrera.

So, according to Lampley, Barrera is the winner.

No joke.

Now, that's what robbery is. And, Don King wasn't even involved. Must be the Golden Boy at work, post-fight.

this is now a robbery. A robbery to Juarez who deserved a draw, was announced a draw officially in front of everybody, and was content he did well, just to later find out that he got screwed by Oscar de la hoya. Oh man, another black eye to boxing indeed.
