I know GGG's team wants to get him in the ring almost as bad as Canelo, so they can snatch that WBO title, and be complete lineal MW champ. It's been a while since somebody has had ALL FOUR major belts. Hell, GGG even has the IBO belt, I think. Which I think should be considered a major belt too (hell, might as well) - they use computerized mathematical formula to determine rankings, so human subjectivity which can be corrupted, is out of the equation!

Anyway - I think Saunders could get a HUGE guarantee to go to Kazakhstan to fight GGG. I'm guessing around 5 million.

I think that's what GGG is aiming for - if he beats Jacobs without taking a huge amount of damage, or suffers an injury. He wants to fight Saunders this summer. Then fight Canelo on Mexican Independence Day in September.
This is a joke surely, Eubank jr just won their title at super middleweight despite never fighting at that weight against a 12 fight novice who won against someone coming off a loss. Their titles get given out when someone buys raffle tickets.

As far as their titles and their prestige go, they'll nevr be a recognised major governing body HOWEVER...

Their computerized ranking system on the whole is very efficient and theres little wrong with it.

Go through their computerized rankings for each weight class and find something major to dispute over.

Maybe none of the other top guys wanted to be sanctioned by IBO to fight for the title? So they went down the rankings until somebody did?

If you look at their SMW rankings, it looks about right to me.

          Well said.

I mean, hell, if you got the WBA having like three champions per division (interim, regular, super), then hell, why shouldn't IBO be recognized as a major title/governing body.

Lol at this point, it's beyond repair... So might as well add them to the mix.

From what I've heard/seen, European countries hold the IBO in higher regard than USA.

            Saunders will fight...probably Golovkin.

The dude could be pretty broke for all we know. He needs to make a living...it isn't like he has had a bunch of big pay days before.

**** i remember the days when WBU fights meant alot here in the UK.

It was viewed as the big stepping stone to the top 4 belt orgs.

Its all a load of old wank anyway, just the ladder climb is a joke.

              Area title
              english title
              british championship
              commonwealth title
              EBU title
              International or intercontinental org belt
              interim / silver org belt
              world belt
              super world belt.

              pfft... load of old ****.

That's the first time I've seen it laid out in order how the "steps" work for British fighters moving up the ladder.

                I love a good all-domestic tear up!

How does the Lonsdale belt work? isn't it given to any English boxer after they reach a certain point/get so many wins?

On a side note I LOVE Lonsdale gear/apparel.

Worst thing that happened to that title was Andy Lee losing to this guy. SMH

Stand corrected about their ranking system, stand by the comment about the titles getting given out to anyone who asks for one. Also last thing boxing needs is yet another title to fight for in each division.

Lonsdale belt is the british championship. If you win and successfully defend five times you get to keep it.

It's a big purist thing here but unfortunately is still slowly fading out in the sense that people dont want the 5 wins.. they usually win it and progress to "world" scene within 2 fights so are dropping it because the fights arent being mandated by the BBBofC who oversee the lonsdale belt.

LOOOL dont say that in the UK. it might be prestigous as belts go in the UK to a boxing degree, but if you were lonsdale clothes in the UK you are one skanky chavvy motherfu**er.

                      Its like... poor people clothes.
