Yup too bad good fight. Fight generated buzz so people probably missed it live but caught clips on youtube or watched it ondemand or one of HBO replays after hearing about the knockout. But these are bad numbers way off from the HBO numbers just this Dec (over 1m viewers for HBO's last fight of the year). I think is a byproduct of going dead air for an entire month and having only 2 cards 10 days into March of a new year. HBO needs more fights to build momentum. Even if they aren't big fights. One fight every month and a half = ratings drop off
Less than 700K viewers for Lemiuex - Stevens on HBO?

How could it have been on PBC? Is Al Haymon suddenly going out of his way to give opportunities to Golden Boy and Main Events fighters when he has like 200 fighters signed to him?Comment

yeah I forgot about the time that didn't help things. Entire card started at 11 so main event didn't kick off till midnight or later. Too late get betting ratings if the main event is starting at 10:30 or 11pm.Last edited by bigdunny1; 03-16-2017, 01:28 PM.Comment

Why would PBC have committed a FOX date to a fight that's literally done nothing to advance the winner? Were it not for Golden Boy needing to cultivate options for Alvarez, where would Lemieux honestly be going?
Lemieux-Stevens wasn't all that big a fight, in actuality; were it with PBC, the fight may have ended up on SpikeTV or BounceTV. They fought at Turning Stone, remember; the venue more known for massive ShoBox cards than for big-time fights.Comment

I have been very critical of HBO the past couple years. That said, I don't want them to fail because it hurts the sport as a whole. Hopefully they make better fights that draw more people.Comment

dude, Wilder vs Washington was on Fox and only did 1.7mil. Was a title fight. That wasn't even 300% more than this less signficant fight and was in several more homesComment
