The odds are probably the way they are because GGG is a known power puncher and Jacobs has a suspect chin. Kind of like if Khan fought Mattysse, he's definitely a better boxer but because of his chin he'd probably be an underdog.

          We also know he's faster.

Jacobs being 2 inches taller has nothing to do with his chances of winning the fight. If height determined the winner then why bother to have a fight? Just measure the boxers and declare the taller man the winner. Hearns should have beat Hagler since he was 6 inches taller.I don't think Jacobs is faster than GGG. I think Canelo would beat Jacobs. Jacobs and Canelo are close in power, speed and skill but Canelo has a much better chin. If Jacobs wins or puts up a good fight then the heavy odds against Jacobs will be proven wrong. If GGG wins a one sided KO then the 8 to 1 odds in his favor will be proven correct. We will soon find out how accurate the pro odds makers were or weren't on this fight.

The line makes sense Golovkin is highly considered and has been hyped to the gills. Plus what is the case for actually putting money on Jacobs he is a good offensive boxer but he is chinny and doesn't really have great defense. So essentially to win Jacobs has to beat Golovkin at his game. Getting 5 to 1 is decent though because Jacobs has some length and is probably a bit faster with his hands so maybe he finds a way to make it work, and you never know Jacobs may catch lightning in a bottle and fight way above his head for one night.

Jacobs should probably be like 3.5 to 1 so it is a decent risk to take, but it is still a risk because a lot of things are saying Jacobs shouldn't win.

You guys ridiculed Quillin for years, you can't say he's a good fighter now that GGG is fighting the guy who upset him.

Daniel Jacobs has 1 win over a top 10 ranked MW in his whole career.
sure we can. don't act like quillin wasn't hyped up as the guy who could be ggg's boogieman. he had the undefeated record and had power. yes later on he was ridiculed for things outside the ring like ducking korobov and asking for crazy money to fight ggg and being delusional. jacobs destroyed quilllin in seconds. if you think jacobs is a bum than you are a fool.

i will conform to the majority to avoid ridicule. so... jacobs is a chinny bum, hes no good because he got knocked out 7 years ago, golovkin has to move up to 175 to prove himself or fight lara.

You guys are working OT on changing history these past 2 weeks. I gotta give it up to you all, much better promotion than K2. 1,000 times better promotion.

Quillin was never seen as someone who could be GGG's boogieman. He was actually always accused of ducking him. Soon as he got a belt, the ducking accusations started. When he fought Winky, before getting the WBO belt, people bashed him. People called his win over N'Dam mediocre and said he got outboxed. In the Rosado fight he looked like crap. He drew with Lee.

If you bring up Lara, i'd agree with you. But Quillin??? Never. His two best fights were N'Dam and Lee and he struggled badly vs them. He KD'ed N'dam 6 times and still only won 115-107 in his own backyard.

I hope Abel and them took this fight seriously. He better not come out like he did against Brook.
He definitely needs a more measured approach. He should focus on taking away the jab early then slowly apply pressure...that's the best ggg imo. This looking for the ko bully **** is why he eats so many shots lately...trying to force his way closer to his opponent.
