But getting timed is not usually down to sloppy hand-speed alone... He's gonna have to be very sharp on the night to avoid 2 punches in particular, I think:
    - the right over the top
    - short left, if he comes in

Boxing at range, in and out, is his only chance, I feel. Gonna be hard for him not to get walked down, if he boxes like that tho!!
Agree but also don't forget the over the top left Golovkin knocked Rubio out with. If you watch the replay in slow motion that punch concussed and caused a temporary dent in Rubio's head before he went down.

Get his respect early and box smart without moving excessively. He has the physical attributes but I just don't think he is skilled enough to handle Golovkin.

He needs to back up GGG. Ideally he would hurt or stun him early, and force GGG to fight going backwards.

Obviously not an easy thing to do, which is why I'm picking GGG, but I think that's his best chance.

I can't believe trying to get a decision is leading. Ggg barely lose rounds i doubt jacobs will win 7/12 rounds. Hes gonna somehow stop ggg so i voted guns blazing.

            Ok ok.
            -right over the top
            -left over the top
            -inside, short left

Rubio went down like a sack of potatoes in that fight!!

Not likely that it be allowed because the bookies will get upset. LOL. Use movement and angles but don't waste energy. If he tires against Golovkin he's a dead man. Above all don't get hit flush on the jaw.
Exactly how I would coach him...use his jab and reach to box on the outside...hit 'em with straight rights when he closes the distance and tie him up...he also needs to throw left hooks off of his jab...right uppercuts and right hooks...invest in shots to the body every damn round!

Same way he beat Quillin. Jacobs was a huge underdog in that fight.

Stepping to the man might well be Jacobs' best (only?!) shot but that is a kamikaze move, IMHO. Staying in mid-range too long is not a wise move for someone who seems susceptible to having his lights turned off with one punch.

Sure will be interesting to see Jacobs' gameplan. Going in guns blazing is just asking for trouble, I think, but who knows, maybe that is the way to go

Jacobs will not get away with any wild wingers (as he is prone to do) without being punished, so he needs to be v. careful about getting in GGG's face

I honestly don't think Jacobs can outbox Golovkin. At some point he'll have to hurt Golovkin but he has to do it from long range. I noticed Golovkin don't like to fire back unless he's close enough for counter to the body or he'll slip something over a lazy jab. If Jacobs hurt him he has to go for broke but he can't get too close. I also don't think Jacobs can hurt him from one punch. However he might be able to catch in the middle of a flurry. I think Golovkin will try to box and wait for Jacobs to make a mistake or slowly break him down.
