Reviewing the Rocky vs. Barrera Showdown

I just finished viewing the "Rocky" vs. "Barrera" fight again in hopes of determining some other point of view. Therefore, I have since reformed my opinion which leaves me agreeing with most of the people that have posted threads and commented on others regarding the initial and final outcome. My initial comments were in favor of "ROCKY", and his aggression, which has not changed a whole heck of a lot. However, I have to agree with the comment that was based on viewers reaction when judges screw-up on the tabulation of fights that end-up being remarkably close fights.

The remote-viewers are left to think the worst when judges screw-up on the cards. Especially when it is corrected after they are off the airwaves. Take the fact that Barrera is not the champ for a second. How do you score the fight? Tabulations can not be corrected by scoring two 10/10 rounds for the twelfth round. It should have been corrected well before the end of the fight. I believe that this is where the problem lies. Other than the fact that I stated, it was a hell of a fight and it should have been left as a draw. Just imagine if all the outcomes were this great and there were no phantom blows to argue about.

You have to admit, Barrera is the champ, and therefore, my boy should have laid him out in a convincingly fashion if he was to take the title. They are both fighters with great attitudes and that is why you did not hear Barrera acknowledging that he thought he won the fight. The “CHAMP” does not want to fight “Rocky” again, and why should he? He has to go for the money while he has a chance, and “Rocky” on the other-hand has earned his stripes at the expense of a well fought match without a favorable outcome. However, “Rocky” said it best in his post interview when he said “I have no choice but to accept the outcome of the fight, but I think that I gained more fans because of the outcome, maybe even some California fans that otherwise would never had know who I am” What a sport! PEACE!!!!!!!!!

Don’t get me wrong sparring partners, I am in favor of
"The Pride of Northside Rocky Juarez".

Barrera is on the way out after a couple of fights. In my opinion, he won the fight but it was close. But I think Rocky has nothing to worry about. He is still young and will have chances to fight for a title. I would like to see him and Soto in a rematch so he can avenge his loss cuz he really got whipped on that fight.

i think that on this fight rocky stunned barrera on a few occasions and didnt press the action to go fo a ko, in the late rounds it appeared as if barrera was outta gas and rocky was more fresh and active witch tells you that barrera is a all time great but its gettin close to retire.

yea i predicted him winning as well. but he didnt. it was close. He should have stepped up to the plate sooner.

As for fighting pacman, i dont think so. not yet. Wait till the pac is at least 29-30 until u fight him. Pacman is quick and has KO power. Juarez must develop his offensive attack a bit better, and prepare himself for more of a war. He has a solid defense, and his guard was vitually unpenetratable the whole night, but hes gotta move his head more to avoid PACMANS super-combos.

With time, juarez might have the skill and power to take down PACMAN, but not quite yet.

like i've said before, juarez is ready to take out pacquiao, i bet pacquiao won't even mention rockys name for long while.
