Comments Thread For: Jacobs: Unlike Others, I Won't Be Intimidated By Golovkin!

NEW YORK Daniel Jacobs wouldn't predict how he'll beat Gennady Golovkin on Saturday night. Jacobs did guarantee that, unlike many of Golovkin's previous opponents, he won't lose their middleweight title bout before it even begins. The WBA world middleweight title-holder has noticed that numerous boxers who've faced Golovkin were beaten mentally before their fights started, much the way Mike Tyson intimidated some opponents into submission during his heyday.

you looked intimidated when pirog was putting pressure on you. since then you have fought boxer types like quillin, mora, truax, etc...which allowed you to do what you wanted when you wanted.

The irony in this is that Golovkin has never said anything in any of his prefight interviews that was intimidating. He has shown nothing but respect for his opponents. The intimidation his opponents feel before a fight was fostered by the way he beats guys in the ring. He delivers a focused methodical beat down and it's unrelenting. He doesn't get tired, he doesn't quit until they stop it or he delivers a knock out, so that's were the intimidation lies. It's nothing verbal. It's only through his actions in the ring and the media reporting it.

Funny. They ALL say that... then they get hit and go back to their corner after round 1 and their face is priceless! lol

I don't think Brook, Lemieux or Stevens were remotely intimidated. Intimidation, outside of a prime Tyson, is overestimated.

Bingo! Every single Golovkin opponent says the same ole, "everyone else is intimidated and beaten mentally before the bell rings but not me"... everyone of them. His next opponent will say it too about Jacobs being knocked out mentally before physically...

Yup, GGG is a true gentleman. He never talks trash and he's always praising his opponents. GGG said that Jacobs is one of his favorites fighters.
