Lawrence Okolie will make his pro debut against Russell Henshaw at the Manchester Arena on March 25, live on Sky Sports. Okolie was the first of the 2016 Team GB Olympians to turn professional and becomes the first to taste action in the paid ranks on the undercard of Anthony Crolla's blockbuster World Lightweight unification rematch with Jorge Linares.

A nice talent, looked good in Rio, just unpolished and raw, but he did similar to Joshua against Savon.

According to BoxRec his opponent also has a tough fight scheduled the week before, so I guess there's a chance he gets stopped in that one and Okolie is left facing a last minute replacement

Is it a four or a six rounder? I hope six

Didn't realize he was going to be fighting at CW. There's not a lot of top level guys at CW on the British scene aside from Bellew, so he should rise to the top of it pretty quick.

Well, Hearn also has Isaac Chamberlain who is a fancied prospect and could become a domestic rival for Okolie down the line. He has a 10-rounder on Sky this Friday

And then Askin is a pretty good fighter, Kennedy is exciting, Vallily can box a bit, and the likes of Simmons, Camacho and McCarthy are not bums and could potentially give Okolie rounds and teach him a thing or two about the pro game

Henshaw gave Chamberlain a very tough fight, though IMO the jury is very much out on how good Chamberlain actually is (lots of gym stories, not much in the way of performances in the ring).

Solid opponent for a first fight.

I quite like Chamberlain since his tough win over Camacho, who I've seen live a couple of times and also like. I'm a firm believer that tough development fights like that create tough fighters. He could be Okolie's Dillian Whyte. He even has a dodgy shoulder too

Ideally Kennedy vs Askin gets rescheduled soon and then Chamberlain faces the winner. Okolie should then join the mix 12-18 months from now

I think he has talent. Not writing him off but just not sold yet based on what ive seen in the ring. I think i was expecting a bit more because i had heard a lot about him before i saw him fight. Happy to wait and see.

Definitely a fan of tough early fights.
