Comments Thread For: Sanchez: If Jacobs Comes to Fight, Will Be Short Night Either Way

NEW YORK – Abel Sanchez is encouraged by Daniel Jacobs’ confidence. Jacobs has mentioned numerous times that if he can land the same punches against Gennady Golovkin that a smaller, weaker Kell Brook hit him with, Jacobs will hurt the heavily favored middleweight champion Saturday night. Sanchez, Golovkin’s trainer, has taken that to mean that Jacobs will be aggressive in their 12-round fight for Golovkin’s IBF, WBA and WBC 160-pound titles at Madison Square Garden.

No way Jacobs comes to this fight offensive minded or willing to take the fight to 3G.
He has the skills and power to do it but he will have a game plan. I think he will box box box in the early rounds and look to catch 3G coming in. He will have to go to the body and use his feet to angle out.
I hope it is a competitive fight with eb and flow..can't wait man.

We all though the same thing for the Quillin matchup, Danny might take the first round off but he's going to try to use his stamina to up his workflow more than normal.

Agreed. Jacobs will probably dominate the early rounds if not the entire first half of the fight. The question in my mind is "Can he maintain his game plan over the course of 12 rounds?". I just rewatched Lemieux vs GGG and was surprised at how slow he looked. He was landing the jab at will and had a great tactical game plan but i don't think he is going to be able to land his jab on Jacobs if Jacobs is boxing. It will be interesting anyway.

Both fighters will be cautious and play it safe & contine to do so until one lands something big. (No toe 2 toe here.)

I wish Jacobs would come out like Thurman did vs. Garcia. I want someone to take it to GGG and Jacobs has the reach and power to land big.

And I feel GGG stops Jacobs it will be bum time for Jacobs.

But you know what? I think in order to beat GGG you have to beat him df up and teach him how to be a victim in the ring. If you want to box and move, he will cut off the ring. I think its hard to outbox him, but Brook, who is a ww, beat him up. And when you attack, GGG, he stands their and takes the whipping. He doesnt know what to do when he's so busy being hurt. I actually think Brook could've beaten him had he held up a little longer. If Jacobs fights like Brook, with less running, it could be a bit violent. Just have to be confident and go in the ring prepared to *** someone up
