Comments Thread For: Hearn: Bellew Will 100% Fight Again, Haye Rematch Possible

According to Eddie Hearn, who promotes WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs), the Liverpool fighter is not going to retire and is fully expected to fight again this year. On March 4 at the O2 Arena in London, Bellew pulled off an early candidate for 'upset of the year' when he moved up to heavyweight to stop former two division world champion David Haye in the eleventh round.

Talk of fighting DW and stuff is only going to get Tony hurt and maybe unable to spend his money.

The fight I most want is Eddie v Warren ...no rules!

I was just thinking to myself before..........

If i was Eddie Hearn, i would force David Haye to take a immediate rematch! (And not allow him a warm up fight, as part of his rehabilitation from his injury).

I believe this is the train of thought, which is going trough the minds of Eddie Hearn and Toney Bellew! Yes David Haye sustained a injury during their first fight! but in those opening rounds, Toney Bellew was negating David Haye's offense and he did take some big shots! All of these factors gives Toney Bellew confidence going into the rematch (Confidence that he did not possess before the first fight, in regards to dealing with Haye's punching power!)....

It is a guaranteed massive pay day, and would be the biggest domestic heavyweight match up since Frank Bruno vs Lennox Lewis! i would love too see the rematch staged at millennium stadium Cardiff (Under the dome, September/October time!)....

With that injury, Haye will not be fighting again this year. If Roberto Duran were reading this, he'd say "Eddie Hearn doesn't know injuries (that's going to be my new thing "Roberto Duran says..." since he clearly knows more about everything than everyone i.e. Chavez Sr doesn't know boxing). Bellew needs to fight someone else. I don't think a lot of people want to see that rematch. Fight Parker in England. Or be Fury's first fight back off that long layoff where you may be able to survive for 12 rounds and collect a big check and retire.
