GYM offered way more than Main Events.

GYM bidding more money than Main Events doesn't at all detract away from my point. Had Duva won the purse bid with the amount she bid, she would have been able to afford to give Barrera more money in the back end in addition to the 25% with the profit she would make. But the 25/75 purse bid split prevented her putting up much as GYM because all the revenue would end up going to pay Beterbiev's salary. Had Main Events won the purse bid by beating out GYM by $1, there wouldn't be squat **** left to give to Barrera over the $62k. The purse bid scenario is something that only really benefited GYM because the ****** split.

Sure, being stingy worked out well for Beterbiev, but I don't know why we fight fans should be praising fighters taking the easy route. And Barrera shouldn't be complaining about people ducking him when he's offering **** money, especially when he blatantly ducked Kovalev.

It's not a question of praising Beterbiev, it's a question of criticizing Barrera for pulling out of the fight. The split was known before he agreed to the purse bid. The market has spoken on what the fight is worth. Barrera wasted everybody's time.
