  • Comments Thread For: Felix Trinidad Still Has Faith in Felix Verdejo To Prove His Hype

As soon as his name began to circulate, Felix 'El Diamante' Verdejo - without knowing it - was in the sights of triple world champion Felix 'Tito' Trinidad. Trinidad had so much interest in the ex-Olympian's abilities that he even baptized him in the middle of his appointment to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in June 2014 as his possible successor when he barely had 13 professional fights.

Well Verdejo is literally the only Rican fighter that impresses me a bit and i believe he still has hope. Of course he ***in does man. He is still so young it would be ****** to count him out..

There is a reason why a smart man like Arum signed him.. guys over at Top Rank know wtf they are doing.

        His mojo is gone

I like Felix, he's a very nice kid. But his state of mind it's not where it needs to be. You can have all the athletic ability in the world, but you're head needs to be in the right track. And there's no training for that. That's what happens when a promotional company gives you things you never thought possible to own at a young age.

The thing I see wrong with Feliz is he is a one trick pony in the ring recently. He looks for the same coubters, and only throws 1 or 2 at a time. Never throws combinations and his opponents figure him out, and he never adapts

No way no how. Juanma only had power, no head movment just stright up I am gonna knock you out thats all.

Verdejo is all around gifted, his issues are trainer related and environment. He has the tools great footwork, hand speed, and pop. The problem is he gets to relaxed and doesn't use it for the whole fight. His corner gives him poor advise.

I think he's talking about how their careers will go. Hyped then will be exposed little by little until he runs into the wrong opponent.

I say, get him tested. No need in him taking slaps forever, these things accumulate. A title shot now would be a sanguine attempt at best. We still don't know what level he is, but I don't see him getting past the present A level crop, 130 to 140. Gamboa?
