  • Comments Thread For: Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs: There is NO Rematch Clause

Plenty is on the line for Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) this coming Saturday night as he faces Daniel Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) from the famed Madison Square Garden in New York City. Most of all, Golovkin's collection of middleweight titles (the WBA, IBO, WBC and IBF) are at stake, along with the possibility of other potential big bouts that he has so yearned for.

He'll come in here talking about how the fix is in because GGG is the house fighter thus why he is so confident to not need a rematch clause.

I mean, he's already coming up with excuses. Bias commentary and such.

No need, this fight will have a definitive ending one way or the other.

Like any of GGG's previous bodies needed a rematch clause... Jacobs is getting KTFO.

I'm wondering just how much Jacobs had to fork out for this to be for all of GGGs belts. That ain't cheap. Often times, the challenger will only pay for one or two of the belts. Wonder if he got a 'package deal'? Heh heh

Jacobs is a bum and I don't think GGG has anything to worry about. But Jacobs can punch a lil bit and GGG's defense is laughable at times. So I think its a bad move for Gennady not to have a rematch clause. If somehow Danny were to luck up and win. I'm fairly certain guys like Canelo and Sanders, who have been reluctant to fight GGG, would jump at the chance to fight Danny. So a loss, without a rematch clause could spell the end of the GGG hype train. Cause you know he's going to the back of Danny, or anybody else's to-do list.

The payout is 575$, so about 6-1.
