I hate it when boxers above 5 ft 8 inches fight below 135 lbs ?

Did you start watching boxing like today or something? Everyone cuts weight. They aren't weight bullies, they are cutting the same amount off as Canelo. Canelo walks around over 170, takes 20 off and fights at 154. These guys weight in the 150s, take 20 off and fight at 135. What they're doing is as natural as everyone else. The only way to change this is to change how weigh ins are done. Then they'll fight around 147, Canelo will fight around 168. It will be exactly the same.Comment

Just because a boxer is tall for the weight class doesn't mean he struggles making weight. Good fighters come in wide variety of body types from short and stocky to tall and slender and they can all fight very well.Comment

could boxing actually work if it separated guys by more than just weight ?
what if everything had to be the same (no more than an 1 1/2'' diff).....
no reach/height OR weight advantage
your 70'' jab vs mine, etc
ditch the weight classes and give each div a letter, number or name of a legend
ie - the ali div or the 510/160 div (guys who fit these molds)
nnnnnaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh
fnck that shlt. keep it simple and deal with it. your weight vs my weight, let the BETTER man win

No boxer has any special talent to lose and then regain large amounts of weight in 32 hours. A weight bully as you call them. Don't you even know that Canelo is often accused of having super powers to gain huge amounts of weight after the weigh in giving him an unfair advantage over his opponent? It' not true of course. Canelo doesn't gain any more weight after the weigh in than many other boxers. Any boxer including Canelo is doing themselves more harm than good if they put on too much weight in too short of time. There is no such thing as a weight bully. A boxer who is 5 ft 8 inches and weighs 150 pounds isn't the least bit skinny. Those are Mayweather's height and weight and he is obviously a very strong muscular boxer.Comment

Different bone structure and genetics will determine a persons weight. Of course height will also have in your weight also but it's certainly not the only factor. A taller guy might (not always) have a reach advantage but a shorter guy in the same weight division would have the advantage of putting on more lean muscle mass for his height.Comment
