Why does Golovkin drain himself for 30 and 7 day weigh-ins?

The guy weighs 170+ on fight night. He's obviously draining for the 30 and 7 day weigh-ins, so why is he doing it? Is he so afraid of moving up that he wants to give the impression he's a small MW. Is it just something he's always done so continues to do it?

Here are fight night weights of past MW fighters.

    Martinez - 165, 168
    Proksa - 166
    Zbik - 165
    Taylor - 166, 169, 171
    Lee - 167.5
    Pavlik - 168, 171
    Hopkins - 166, 168, 169
    Wright - 168
    Barker - 168
    Jacobs - 170
    Pirog - 170
    Quillin - 170
    Macklin - 172
    Monroe - 172
    Miranda - 173
    Korobov - 173, 174

All weights taken from this very helpful site.

    He's not a small MW.

While I was waiting in line at Burger King for a delicious whopper with cheese, I was thinking about Abel saying how Golovkin has been having nightmares about the 2010 sparring session with Alvarez, and how Abel told Ring magazine that it was the easiest sparring session for Gennady, or when Abel told the press that Kovalev feared Golovkin in sparring... I then ordered onion rings. Then the manager came out of nowhere like a psychic and said "164 doe"

I ran away and everybody was looking at me

Word on the street is that BK changed their fries recipe back to old school more delicious fries. By word on the street I mean Tyrone told me...a former p4p bum that sparred Gennady for bK meals. Onion rings are crunchy and delicious.

Dan Rafael is responsible to deliver Whopper Jr.'s for Tyrone but whenever Dan arrives he mumbles to Tyrone with a rapid heart beat and mayonnaise all over his face and glasses, " bad news, they ran out of food!"
