Comments Thread For: David Lemieux Wants Another Shot at Gennady Golovkin

NEW YORK The fight David Lemieux wants most is a rematch with Gennady Golovkin. There might not be much public demand outside of Quebec for a Golovkin-Lemieux rematch because Golovkin won their middleweight title fight so convincingly. The champion from Kazakhstan was way ahead on the scorecards (70-62, 70-62, 70-62) when he stopped Lemieux in the eighth round of their October 2015 fight at Madison Square Garden.

Golovkin - Lemieux II is about as compelling as Kovalev - Pascal III.

Lemieux is younger than GGG so he should wait a bit before facing GGG again. Maybe he can fight a faded GGG in a few years. But now GGG seemts to be still in his prime and a rematch would be no different.

Do you honestly believe Golovkin fighting a non active house arrest Wade or a 147 Brook in 2016 makes him look "prime."

Tureano and Wade are real suspect characters not having said anything... that briefcase money on the downlow was nice innit

Unfortunately for David, the only way he gets another shot at Golovkin is if he becomes the mandatory.
