Comments Thread For: Sullivan Barrera Reacts To "Scared" Claims of Artur Beterbiev

If this is true, then Barrerra did sign to fight (for admittedly low money) and Beterbiev's management couldn't reserve a venue or actually arrange for the fight to take place. Doesn't Haymon promote Artur? How could he let that happen?
Barrerra has fought tough guys in his career, too bad this fell apart.

You'd swear Beterbiev was promoted by Caribe. He certainly looks evil enough to be paet of their stable.
Has anybody ever played/heard of Of Orcs And Men?
Rigo and Artur would be like Arkhail and Styx, no doubt.

Unfortunately, the damage is done. For the next 3 years you'll hear how Barrera ducked Beterbeiv and there will be 2 of us that remembered the other side of the story.
That said, Barrera did himself NO favors with the social media antics. He looked like he had no clue what he was doing, and that he was trying to back out. Should have kept it professional, rather than doing exactly what he's accusing the other guys of doing.

Hard to know who is lying and who is telling the truth.
GYM are entirely to blame for this fight not happening. Had Yvon Michel offfered Barrera decent money, it would still be a go. He was having a very hard time securing an opponent for Beterbiev before Barrera finally accepted. Duva initially rejected the fight, it's Barrera who insisted because he wanted to face nobody else but Beterbiev.
He's a promoter, he chose to invest on Beterbiev, a promising light heavyweight about to fight in a title eliminator, he should have offered decent money to make sure the fight happens. If you really believe in him and if he turns out to be the real deal, you'll eventually have you return on investment.

Proceeds of the purse bid for elimination bouts or box offs will be distributed as
follows:
a. Boxer ranked #1 v. Boxer ranked #2
50% to each contestant
b. Boxer ranked #1 or #2 v. any other boxer
75% to boxer #1 or #2 and 25% to other contestant
c. Boxers ranked #3 or below v. boxer ranked #3 or below
60% to higher ranked boxer and 40% to lower ranked boxer
