More consistent punch output.... He'd push mayorga back and touch that body...he wasn't soft there like @ higher weights but Margo would outwork him in a FOTY type fight

Ricardo Mayorga wins via split decision over 12 rounds! Mayorga's athleticism was underrated, and i believe this variable will help him up against Antonio Margarito! In terms of punch resistance? they are both have similar levels of durability, so this fight will be down to who has the best defense! (A brutal chaotic affair! and Mayorga's athleticism under fire will help him to out point Margarito)...

Prime/peak Mayorga was underrated. Beat Forrest twice, Vargas, lost to Spinks because he was penalized 2 points which ended up being the 2 points he needed to win an SD. Peak/slightly past it Mayorga was beating Mosley on one scorecard by 1 point, losing by 1 round on another scorecard before the 12th round KO. Completely past it Mayorga went 12 rounds with Cotto before being stopped.

DLH, coming off a 2 year layoff, was probably the only fighter who demolished prime Mayorga with EASE. Trinidad destroyed him too, but Mayorga was definitely more confident against Trinidad, while DLH made him his son very quickly in the first round.

Verdict: Prime Mayorga decisions prime Margarito.

lol, seriously, a lot of this depends on whether Capetillo is wrapping Margo's hands or not

I was a big fan of Margo, but IMO, his career is sullied. I don't know if that first win (very good at the time) over Cotto was legit or not. I don't know if Margo had help in many of his fights.

Aside from that, from what I saw of Margo's prime, he takes what Mayo dishes and breaks Mayo down. Mayo is quicker & more athletic, but I never say him use those talents to avoid punches

Margarito wins a UD on activity alone. Mayorga then puts out his cigarette on Margarito's back after the fight, causing a riot.
