Didn't come close to hype.. No drama and no signature Rd.And where is this dangerous one punch power Danny supposedly has?? Went distance with zero knockdowns with Herrera, Judah, Peterson, Guerrero - all stood toe to toe with him. Even Thurman went toe to toe with Danny during 1st half of fight. ko'ing glass-jawed Khan and little Salka doesn't mean U have legit one punch power.

fck it lets just tie a rope around boxers and put em in a phone booth and let's watch em slug it out. what's the purpose of a damn ring if you can't move your feet.

let's make it illegal to block punches too. every punch thrown should land. if a fighter moves away from danger deduct a point.

Exactly I found the fight kind of intense any shot could of damage the other fighter, Thurman landed more punches and threw more,,, they want him to take punches on purpose smh

It wasn't an absolute stinker. The only really damaging part was Thurman's constant retreat in the late rounds. He was way too risk averse and missed a great opportunity as a result.

It's the MeMeMayweather effect: win by playing it safe and leave the fans feeling like ****.

This wasn't a great tactical fight either btw, for those saying the fans just want brawls. Both guys struggled to land well-timed & clean shots. Especially as the fight progressed.

Rather than looking like two young lions battling for supremacy, they looked like two mid-level contenders afraid to lose.

Whether you realize it or not, we all have a stake in PBC as boxing fans now that HBO is slowly walking away from the sport. Once HBO pulls the plug (which seems to be coming in the next 1-2 years) we'll hopefully have free content available instead of being forced to pay for Showtime or HBO.

I don't think it's about Haymon being successful. It's more about making our lives as fans and consumers simple and less expensive. We enjoy every other sport in some capacity for free on network TV. (Excluding costs of utilities and TV) There's no reason boxing should be any different.

The fight was not bad at all. People need to stop with this. Maybe yall just need realistic expectations of what to expect.

It was an interesting fight but "forgettable" is a good way to describe it. One of the problems was the hype. Thurman hadn't fought in 9 months. He says Garcia is no WW, predicts a KO and then fights as if Garcia is Joe Louis.
Garcia can punch, but we've seen Lamont Peterson (no great chin) walk through Danny's best shots and give him a beat down.
The problem is expectations are high for these once a year fights, we'd do better with more frequent fights between top 10 guys.

I think eventually that's the plan, w/ maybe 4 PPVs per year total. But it takes time to build out the model. It seems like they're starting to figure things outs. The gates have been way up this year ( w/ the exception of Broner - Granados), and this prime time rating is a high for the PBC.

Once they integrate guys like Mikey, Tank and the Charlos into the prime time mix and find one network to broadcast (appears CBS will be the place) things will take off. And they gotta figure what to do with Wilder. (I recommend taking him off of prime time and park him in the Saturday afternoon slot with the UK market where he's actually relevant). His prime time numbers are out of sink with the other fights they've put on.

Im just curious , are you a Thurman fan? It seems like the Thurman fans are being most defensive about this topic (all due respect, I'm not being flip, I'm really curious).
