why doesnt thurman have a hardcore following...

... like the hardcore following that unbeaten americans- spence, ward and wilder have got. Whats the reason for this? Just seen someone saying peterson beats him, seen lots of people saying that spence beats him despite us not seeing him in the ring with anyone who can fight back yet.
Thurmans arguably the number 1 fighter in the most glamorous division in the sport, yet people dont seem to get behind him even though he is proven world class? Am i missing something? Why are the fans of the other fighters mentioned not fans of thurman?

I'd say because Americans have sold their own fighters out for Eastern Euros. Disgraceful in my opinion.

      1. Outside of Garcia, his resume is filled with gatekeepers but he doesn't blast them out like Spence or Wilder.

      2. Love him or hate him he is a weird dude. The whole new age thing probably turns some people off.

Those are two reasons off the top of my head.

Because Haymon/PBC didn't go all out promotion-wise like they did or are trying to with Spence, Garcia, Broner, etc.

He doesn't really connect with any particular ethnic group either.

Fighting once a year in your prime won't give you huge following.

All of the above seem to be very good answers

His last fight just got 5.1 million viewers. That's more than 99% of other American fighters.

bcuz he aint black enough for the brothas and to nappy headed for the polar bears.

His best bet is to learn Spanish and pretend hes Puerto Rican.

I think he was getting a following until he stopped knocking people out and picked up that prancing around in the ring
