This is Why Boxing is Winning

So, I decided after watching the drama that was Haye v Bellew and Garcia v Thurman to watch a bit of UFC as I didn't have anything else to watch.

Now this was supposed to be a rematch to rival all rematches in the history of combative sports and the main event everyone in the world of MMA was waiting for. I challenge anyone to find me a more boring fight than this one. I've seen UFC before and while there are some good fights, most end up on the ground and the action screeches to a halt, but this fight was in a new category altogether....3 or 4 strikes a round, some none....4 minutes of them basically standing there.....it made Pacquiao v Mayweather look like a blood bath...I've never seen a fight where the audience continually boos in every round. It was so mind numbingly dull it became interesting to see if they could make it to the end without throwing more than 20 strikes and unbelievably they did but with less

That's true. The more exciting fight took place in boxing that night between two undefeated fighters vying for the unified(well 2 out of 4 or 5) welterweight title. Of course, the UFC recognizes one champion per division, but so what? Boxing gave us a real rumble between tow guys who gave us non-stop action for twelve full rounds. Oh, wait. That's right. They didn't throw many punches either and one guy got those track shoes on while the other stood still, refusing to throw and do what he had to do. Yes, sir. Great night for boxing all the way around.

Im not a huge mma fan but i do get into it from time to time. That fight was a snoozer in the making. The champ is a wrestler with 1 punch and the challenger was a points karate fighter. The fight b4 it that got cancelled wouldve been a foty type fight supposedly. Hell i was reading a thread earlier that said casuals thought garcia vs thurman was boring.

        Challenge accepted.

While yes, that rematch was a snoozefest...

Clearly, you didn't watch Dada vs. Kimbo.

Kimbo vs Dada was so bad that it ceased to be bad and became hilariously awesome.

Fury vs Klitschko was the the worst HW title fight I've ever seen. I think Woodley's 5th round attempt to finish the fight made it better than the 36 minutes of wtfness of Fury vs Klitschko. And sh^t I say that as a guy who called the upset & is a Fury fan. My whole post-fight take on this fight was that Fury outboring'd Klitschko, a notoriously boring fighter in the past.

Oh come on, Klitschko/Fury (respect the A-Side...) had moments. Like Fury pulling a Roy Jones on Grabomir

Every one wants to see two guys bash their brains in, especially if you paid good money to see it live.
