  • IS the UK market more profitable?

Let's say you have a similarly popular event, relatively speaking.

For example khan-Brook, wlad-Aj. or AJ-Fury compared to wilder-jennings, or thurman garcia. It seems objectively, the UK market big fights are going to do much better than American big fights?

Does hearn have the edge due to loyal brit fans?

Yes, this is why I believe Floyd is a genius for setting up shop in England.

Not only is the market more profitable, but much more savvy as well. Takes a lot to hear a boo from a British crowd.

I don't know if its more profitable but I will say as a yank I always enjoy watching UK cards. The atmosphere seems pretty electric and adds to the fights. Brits seem to be great fans.

It seems like the PPV angle is bigger in the US, but the gate is more consistent in the UK. So if its a HUGE fight I think the US is better, but if its most bigger fights than I think the UK side offers more profitability.

              Yes, and no.

For grassroots type of cards, UK is more profitable. The fighters are able to bring out good-sized crowds for hometown fighters.

I've explained this before, but I think a lot has to do with the boxers' ties to the local football teams there, and how they help promote the fighters at the football matches.

It also just has to do with the more centralized population - UK is a much smaller, condensed country, so a boxer is going to get more attention.

However, when it comes to ceiling-potential to make money, USA still is the best. But it's very hard to reach that level of popularity before you can generate that type of revenue here in USA.

Lets face it....the brits love the fights...the americans love the science. Some local area fights in the uk can draw just as many people as low key title fights in the u.s....its simply because the local area boys are always about the grudge...they know their level and will blood and guts it out simply for town pride. A lot of u.s. fighters wont even build up a sweat unless its 5 figures or more and a promise of one day seeing the millions.
