He has a better fanbase in the UK, mainly because they only get his fights broadcast here minus all the gossip, drama and opinions that US broadcasters feel the public needs to know (e.g. HBO...telling us about his dometic charges). Sky just broadcast the fight, no doubletalk during commentating so our opinion of him is based purely on boxing. Look at the reception he got in Manchester, we can't get enough of him. Yanks are ungrateful.

As a US citizen, I can confirm this. It's generally sad listening to fans discuss boxing here. This forum has shown me that UK fans are very knowledgeable. Although the fandom for British fighters is down right goofy at times.
