what is his merit though? being a 2 weight champ? ok lets put randall bailey in as well. losing to everyone good? ok lets put a billion guys. only way he gets in is because a lot of people are familiar with his name.

he will never get in.there is nothing memorable about paulie he wasn't a legendary action fighter like gatti who was loved by everyone which is the only reason he got in.

Anyone who comes on this thread and has the audacity to trash Malignaggi just has zero class. No other way to put it. Same type twit who would go below someone's obituary and trash them. That not only comes from someone who is a twit, but they're also an ignorant azzholeo.

I was never a big Malignaggi fan, but I could easily see he was a very cerebral fighter who gave 110% every time. Not many fighters have that. Plus he's a good billboard for the sport, and a great commentator.

And as for his retirement, I think he'll come back for at least one final fight in his true homeland, Italy. He could take a decision vs a good B fighter, then fade off into the sunset. Seems fitting.
