Comments Thread For: Brook Aims To Face Thurman Before Leaving Welterweight Division

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs) is not looking to leave the 147 ranks any time soon. Brook already has a mandatory defense on schedule against Errol Spence (21-0, 18 KOs), which is being targeted for Sheffield United's Bramall Lane on May 27.

Man I hope Brook is able to still perform at his best level at 147. If Kell beats Spence, Thurman, then Pacquiao all this year - pow!

I hope the Brook-Spence fight is good enough (and close enough) to where both guys can fight better competition afterwards. I really want both of them to fight the other top guys at 147 after their fight

Yeah, I think Spence is legit. Even if he loses to Brook, I think he remains a top dog at 147. I'm more concerned with Brook's weight cut and eye than anything.

                So there goes excuse #1....

it's safe to assume 147 is still a comfortable weight for this guy to fight at, if he's already looking forward to other fights at said weight, after spence.

Agreed 100%. If the weight and eye are not an issue, we're gonna have an incredible fight
